We all want good skin. But most people think skin care means spending thousands of rupees on fancy creams and salon treatments. The truth is — good skin starts with simple daily habits. As a dermatologist, I see patients every day who are using 10 different products but skipping the most basic steps.

So today, let me share 5 simple habits that actually work.

1. Wash Your Face Only Twice a Day

Many people wash their face 4 to 5 times thinking it will remove dirt and pimples. But over-washing removes natural oils from your skin and makes it dry and irritated. Wash your face once in the morning and once at night — that is enough.

2. Sunscreen is Not Optional

This is the most important thing I tell every patient. Whether it is summer, winter, or a cloudy day — UV rays are always present. Apply SPF 30 or higher every single morning. Most pigmentation and early ageing problems I see in my clinic could have been prevented with just this one step.

3. Drink Enough Water

Your skin is an organ. It needs hydration from inside, not just outside. Drink at least 8 glasses of water daily. You will notice a difference in your skin glow within 2 weeks — guaranteed.

4. Do Not Pop Your Pimples

I know it is tempting. But popping pimples pushes bacteria deeper into the skin and causes permanent scars. Leave it alone or visit a dermatologist for safe treatment.

5. Sleep Well — Your Skin Repairs at Night

During sleep, your skin goes into repair mode. Less than 6 hours of sleep shows directly on your face — dullness, dark circles, and breakouts. Make 7 to 8 hours of sleep non-negotiable.

Good skin does not happen overnight. But with these five simple habits, you will see a real difference in 30 days. No expensive products needed — just consistency.
